About

Julia Rinaldi is a Toronto based designer and maker with a propensity for bold and playful functional objects. Working primarily in wood, she pushes natural materials into a highly processed, almost artificial realm while preserving the visual cues of the object's intended use. Her process is referential and iterative, reworking familiar forms through rounds of prototyping until the idea earns its place, resulting in objects that feel a little strange while remaining familiar.
